So this past week was a rough one. I have been following a mom who blogs and tweets about her daughter Layla Grace. She has been fighting a cancer called Neuroblastoma for almost a year and was stage 4. It is found mostly in infants and children. If detected soon enough the prognosis can be really good but there are usually no symptoms that stand out especially when you have children who are generally normal eaters and such. Anyways, yesturday morning she passed away at the tender age of 2. She is in heaven now without pain and chasing butterflies. Layla leaves on earth her mother, father and two older sisters. Please pray for the Marsh family during this tough time. Also if you can please visit http://laylagrace.org/
to see how you can help fight this cancer and see Layla's full story.
Such a beautiful big blue-eyed baby girl. RIP Layla Grace Marsh!!

Another sad story to tell is that of the Hollywood world. I was in shock when they announced the death of Heath Ledger yes. Very saddened by Brittany Murphy's untimely death, true. And got slightly teary eyed when I heard Andrew Koenig better known as Richard 'Boner' Stabone from the 80's and early 90's show 'Growing Pain's'. But nothing could prepare me for todays news. Now I seriously cried like a newborn baby when I heard this first thing in the morning. What a way to start the day right?
Corey Haim, one of my beloved, favorite actors from my youth and yes the 80's died of unknown causes. Well some say its from an overdose yet no illegal drugs were found in the apartment he was sharing with his mother. He was 38 years old and had flu like symptoms but suffered from severe drug and alcohol addictions almost his whole life. If you have had a movie night or love 80's pop culture I am sure you have seen his movies but for those who have not check out License to Drive, Dream a Little Dream, The Lost Boys, First Born and Lucus among others. Corey Haim was sober according to his agent and mother but a mixture of methadone(prescribed for an addict) and over the counter Antihistamines could have caused him to collapse in the early morning hours on Wednesday. This has not been confirmed as of this time. Please pray for Judy, his mother. I always remember him talking about his mother in interviews and such. Just a sad couple of days. Lets hope young and old Hollywood gets the hint that drugs are not recreational...they DO kill you, no one is immune to them even if you do have a lot of money and you are famous. RIP Corey Haim...you will forever be remembered.
My Favorite Corey Haim Movie!!
